Photovoltaic Isolated Transfer Switch is one of the key equipment in the photovoltaic power generation system, which consists of solar panels, inverters, controllers and circuit breakers. The inverter converts DC power into AC power; the controller adjusts and controls the output power of the inverter according to the input voltage, current and other data information; the circuit breaker is used to isolate DC and mains power to ensure the safe and stable operation of photovoltaic power plants .
What is the workflow of Isolated Transfer Switch?
What is an Isolated Transfer Switch (ITS)?
How Does an ITS Work?
The Isolated Transfer Switch can reliably pass the normal load current and short-circuit fault current in the closed state. Because it does not have a special arc extinguishing device, it cannot cut off the load current and short-circuit current.
Therefore, the Isolated Transfer Switch can only be operated when the circuit has been disconnected by the circuit breaker, and it is strictly forbidden to operate with load, so as to avoid serious equipment and personal accidents.
Only voltage transformers, lightning arresters, no-load transformers with excitation current not exceeding 2A, and no-load lines with current not exceeding 5A can be directly operated with Isolated Transfer Switch.
An Isolated Transfer Switch (ITS) is a device used to safely and efficiently transfer electrical loads between two sources of power. ITSs are commonly used in backup power systems, allowing for the uninterrupted operation of critical equipment in the event of a power outage.
In a typical installation, an ITS will be connected to both the normal power source and the backup power source. When the normal power source fails, the ITS will automatically transfer the load to the backup source, ensuring that critical equipment remains operational.
ITSs are available in a variety of configurations to suit different applications. For example, some ITSs are designed for use with generators, while others can be used with batteries or other types of backup power sources.
When selecting an ITS for a particular application, it is important to consider the type of equipment that will be powered by the device. ITSs are rated according to the maximum voltage and current they can handle. It is also important to select an ITS that has been approved for use in your specific country or region.
An ITS consists of a switch that is electrically operated to transfer a load between two sources of power. The two sources are typically the utility grid and a backup generator. The switch is designed to isolate the generator from the grid when the generator is not in use. This prevents damage to the generator from power surges on the grid. When the generator is needed, the ITS transfers the load to the generator and starts the generator.
