Isolated Transfer Switch refers to its role in the circuit, that is to say, the isolating switch in the circuit may be a knife switch, but it may also be a transfer switch or even a circuit breaker.

Isolated Transfer Switch

What is the working principle of Photovoltaic Isolated Transfer Switch?

What are the functions of Isolated Transfer Switch?

What is the operating range of the Isolated Transfer Switch?

What is the working principle of Photovoltaic Isolated Transfer Switch?

1) When installing a photovoltaic system, if the installer does not cut off the input of the battery board and the inverter first, the DC power will be connected to the DC side of the inverter when wiring and plugging in the DC terminals, which will cause personal electric shock and inverter failure. Damage to the controller and back-end equipment;

(2) In the photovoltaic power station, the inverter is the "core center". In order to ensure sufficient power generation time, the inverter does not have a start-stop button. As long as there is light (even in rainy weather), the panels can generate electricity. The converter works automatically. However, this also brings a problem. When replacing or repairing the inverter, even if the AC side has been disconnected by the installed AC circuit breaker, the DC side is always powered. In this case, if the inverter cannot isolate the direct current from the battery panel, it will easily cause electric shock and equipment damage.

What are the functions of Isolated Transfer Switch?

1. After opening, establish a reliable insulation gap, and separate the equipment or lines that need to be repaired from the power supply with an obvious disconnection point to ensure the safety of maintenance personnel and equipment.

2. According to the operation needs, switch the line.

3. It can be used to divide and close small currents in the line, such as the charging current of bushings, busbars, connectors, and short cables, the capacitive current of switch equalizing capacitors, the circulating current when double busbars are switched, and the excitation current of voltage transformers. Wait.

4. According to the specific conditions of different structure types, it can be used to divide and combine the no-load excitation current of a transformer with a certain capacity.

What is the operating range of the Isolated Transfer Switch?

Generally stipulates the allowable operating range of the isolating switch

1. Close the voltage transformer and lightning arrester normally.

2. Pull and close the 220kV no-load busbar.

3. The neutral point of the transformer when there is no ground fault in the pulling power grid.

4. Pull and close the bypass current through the switch or isolator closure.

5. Outdoor vertical split-and-close three-way isolating switch, no-load transformer with pull-in voltage of 220kV and above, excitation current not exceeding 2A, and no-load line with capacitive current not exceeding 5A.

The 6.10kV outdoor triple isolating switch pulls and closes a load current not exceeding 15A.

The 7.10kV isolating switch pulls in a loop equalizing current not exceeding 70A.
